Welcome to the 2021/2022 Season
To all members, players, supporter and visitors
It is my privilege and honour to once again serve as Club President of Waterpark RFC for the 2021/2022 season
The COVID-19 pandemic presented a unique challenge for our club. Now, following a prolonged absence of almost 18 months, we are delighted to return to playing rugby with a renewed commitment and determination for the season ahead.
Although no rugby was being played during the pandemic, the committee continued to work tirelessly and took the opportunity to carry out repairs on the clubhouse, and maintain the grounds and pitches.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved for your ongoing commitment and hard work. With a special thanks to the grounds people who have maintained the pitches at such a high standard.
During the summer, the committee once again organised a very successful tag-rugby tournament under challenging circumstances, and adherent to COVID guidelines. I would like to thank all involved for their part in such a successful and enjoyable tournament.
In previous years, we spoke about creating a more UNITED club at Waterpark. I would like to once again reinforce this message because I believe a united club is a successful club.
Therefore, support for all of our teams is vitally important. I would encourage all club members to come down and show your support for our teams competing at all levels.
I would like to extend thanks to all coaching staff – from minis, to youths, to seniors and ladies – for your ongoing commitment and dedication.
The development of our minis and youths is what can drive success and ensure the future of our club. We would like to see even more youths continue to progress to senior level at Waterpark RFC.
Also crucial to the success of Waterpark RFC is support from our members. Your membership fees contribute to the ongoing maintenance and day-to-day running of our club. So, I would like to remind all club members that this season’s membership fees can be paid online through the club website, waterparkrfc.com. All contributions are welcome.
The lifeblood of any club is its members. New members are always welcome at Waterpark; and I would encourage all existing and past members to connect with the club.
To our generous and faithful sponsors, Dawn Meats and Trans-Stock, and to our advertising supporters we would like to offer a sincere and heartfelt thank you. Your continued support is very much appreciated.
Waterpark RFC has always prided itself on being a welcoming club. We ask that all teams, coaches, players, and visitors continue this tradition and show respect to everyone at all times.
I look forward to another successful year and would like to offer a special welcome to Clonakilty RFC and their supporters for our opening game at Ballinakill on October, 10th.
And finally, I would like to wish all Waterpark teams every success in the season ahead.
