WATERPARK 2ND XV 24 – 0OLD ISLEWORTH
Waterpark 2nd XV proved too strong for Old Isleworth in Ballinakill on Saturday last and emerged victorious on a score line of 24 – 0. This was a game played at a high tempo throughout with play moving from side to side on several occasions with some very good interplay between backs and forwards from both sides.
Park opened the scoring after five minutes through second row, Keith Doherty who barged over from ten metres out to put his side ahead at 5 – 0. Five minutes later a sweeping move from inside their own twenty two saw Park go deep into the opposition twenty two from where the ball was spread wide for winger Barry Hilliard to go over in the corner and increase the lead to 10 – 0. On fifteen minutes winger Hilliard was again on the scoreboard with his second try which he converted to push the margin to 17 -0. This scoreline remained the same into the second half and with the home side in control it was no surprise when Number 8, Damien O’Dwyer crossed for Park’s fourth try of the afternoon which was converted by scrum half, John Flynn to leave the final score at 24 – 0 to Park. Our thanks to ex-Park player, Brian Daniels, who organized this trip on behalf of Old Isleworth.
